Florida drug-free workplace program
In Florida, a certified drug-free workplace program can lower your workers' compensation premium: 5%. Here's who certifies it and what it takes.
The program at a glance
- The discount: 5%.
- Who certifies it: Self-certified to your insurer (NCCI form 09-01A), annual.
- What it requires: 60-day notice; four kinds of testing; AHCA- or HHS-certified lab; a stronger intoxication defense too (440.09).
- Public contracts: Fla. Stat. 287.087: a bid that certifies a drug-free workplace gets preference in the award. Applies to: State bidders. Read the rule.
