Small and critical access hospitals
Staff and contract-worker files, handled.
Pact Compliance Review checks every upload, usually within minutes, 24/7. Your own staff and every agency or contract worker: licenses, TB, BLS, vaccines and a monthly OIG check. Larger hospital? We quote it in writing.
The sample is a nursing home. A hospital's files work the same way.

What the rules ask for
A hospital's nursing service must have a procedure to make sure nursing personnel who need a license have a valid, current one (42 CFR 482.23(b)(2)). The director of nursing supervises and evaluates the clinical work of all nursing personnel, however they're engaged, so agency and contract nurses are in scope too (482.23(b)(6)). A critical access hospital's staff must be licensed, certified or registered as federal, state and local law requires (42 CFR 485.608(d)).
A provider that employs or contracts with someone on OIG's exclusion list can owe civil money penalties (42 U.S.C. 1320a-7a(a)(6)), which is why hospitals check every worker, not just employees. How OIG exclusion screening works.
What Pact keeps in every file
Licenses, checked for you
We check every license and aide registry for you. Pact's staff look each one up on the free public lookup sites and record when, where and the result, with a screenshot or PDF of the lookup when the site allows one. A renewal gets a fresh check.
TB, BLS and vaccines
TB results, BLS and ACLS cards, flu shots and declinations, hepatitis B and other vaccines, each with its expiration date. TB items follow CDC's 2019 rule (a test at hire, yearly TB education, a retest after an exposure) unless your state asks for more, as Kentucky does with a yearly risk assessment.
Contract and agency workers
Add travelers and agency staff to the same roster. Their files are reviewed and checked the same way, and they leave the bill when they leave your roster.
Monthly exclusion checks
Every active worker against OIG's exclusion list and the Medicaid lists of 25 states automatically, monthly and whenever you add someone. Each check is saved as proof, with its date and the list version it used. In 2026 so far, OIG has excluded 705 nurses and nurse aides and 273 personal care workers (OIG's list, updated October 9, 2026). Check up to 50 staff now.
Reminders before anything runs out
Reminders go out 30, 14 and 7 days before anything expires. If someone ignores the 30, 14 and 7-day reminders, the manager or director of nursing you name gets one email with the list. Reminders never ask for something already approved and good for more than 30 days.
Files ready when asked
Pick the people and download one packet: a summary page plus every approved file, in one zip file. Every download is logged.
How setup works
- Ask for your price. Tell us how many active staff and contract workers you have. You get the price in writing within 1 business day, with a link to sign up.
- Sign online. The service agreement takes about five minutes. Then connect a bank account for the monthly invoice. Connecting it charges nothing.
- Add your people. Send us your staff list in any format. We load it for you. Limit items to certain roles (nurses only, for example).
- Staff and contract workers send their documents. Each person gets a link to their own page on their phone. No app, no password. If an upload can't be used (blurry, the wrong document, expired by its printed date, or someone else's name), the worker is asked for a new copy by email (and by text once texting is on for your account), with their own link.
- The first exclusion check runs when you add people, then every month.
See the portal in 2 minutes: a click-through of a sample facility, no login.
Every Monday you get one email: who's expired, who's coming up, and what we handled for you.
What Pact doesn't do
- It doesn't credential or privilege physicians and other medical staff. Your medical staff office keeps that.
- It doesn't connect directly to your HR, scheduling or credentialing system. Lists and exports move as files you upload.
- It doesn't keep patient records, and it can't promise a survey result. Pact is a private company, not part of CMS or any state.

Common questions
Can we track agency and contract workers too?
Yes. Add each agency nurse, traveler or contract worker to your roster like your own staff. They upload their documents from their phone, Pact Compliance Review checks each one, and they're in every monthly exclusion check. People who have left aren't billed.
What does it cost?
$10 per active worker a month, staff and contract workers alike, with a $250 monthly minimum. The first month is free: no monthly fee for the rest of the month you sign or the next full month. There's no setup fee and it's month to month, with 30 days' written notice. A larger hospital gets its price in writing.
Do you check licenses with the state board?
Yes. Pact's staff look up each license and nurse aide registry listing for you, by hand, on the free public lookup sites: the board's site, Nursys or the state registry. They record when, where and the result in the person's file. It isn't automatic. How to check a CNA or nurse license.
Which exclusion lists do you check?
OIG's federal list every month, plus the Medicaid exclusion lists of 25 states automatically, for the states you operate in. For 20 more states and DC, Pact can't read the state's list automatically (Texas, Florida, California, Illinois, Minnesota and others), so the rest are done by a monthly hand-check task in your portal, with the proof saved: you search each one that applies to you on the state's own site. Five states (Oklahoma, South Dakota, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin) keep no list of their own and use OIG's list, which Pact already checks. The lists have no Social Security numbers, so a possible match comes to you to confirm.
Do you do physician credentialing and privileging?
No. Pact keeps staff and contract-worker files: licenses, TB, BLS, vaccines, training and exclusion checks. Credentialing and privileging for your medical staff stays with your medical staff office.
Does it connect to our HR or scheduling system?
No. There's no direct connection. Send us your staff list in any format and we load it, and upload your payroll or HR export each month as CSV or Excel to catch who's new and who left. Nothing changes until you confirm.
Is staff health information covered by HIPAA?
Health records you keep about your own workers as their employer are employment records, which HIPAA's definition of protected health information leaves out (45 CFR 160.103). Keep patient information out of staff uploads. Read the one-page security summary.
Will this make us pass a survey?
No tool can promise a survey result. Pact keeps each file current and dated in one place, so you can see what's missing before a surveyor asks. Pick the people and download one packet: a summary page plus every approved file, in one zip file. Every download is logged.
