Text messages from Pact Compliance
Pact Compliance runs drug and alcohol testing programs and credential tracking for employers. We text the people in those programs only after they agree, and only about the program: a sign-in link to their own page, a notice to go to a test, or a reminder before something expires. Never marketing, and never a test result.
How people agree to texts
Each driver or worker has their own page in Pact's portal (portal.pactcompliance.com), which their employer sends them a link to. Under Your contact info they can enter a cell number and press Save. This is the form, with the exact wording shown beside the phone field:
Your contact info
This is how we reach you about a physical or a test. Keep it current.
Cell phone
By saving a cell number you agree that Pact Compliance may text it about your drug and alcohol program and medical card - a sign-in link or a reminder, never a test result. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP at any time to stop.

Healthcare and NEMT workers see the same form with this wording: "By saving a cell number you agree that Pact Compliance may text it about your credentials - a sign-in link or a reminder. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP at any time to stop." Employees outside DOT see: "By saving a cell number you agree that Pact Compliance may text it about your company's drug testing program - a sign-in link or a reminder, never a test result. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP at any time to stop."
When the number is saved, the portal records the date and that the person entered it themselves. An employer may also give Pact a number, but only for a person who has agreed to program texts, as its signed service agreement with Pact requires; the portal records that too. No text goes to a number without consent on file.
