Compliance tracking for EMT and paramedic programs
EMS students rotate through ambulance services and hospital departments, often on shifts they pick themselves. Pact keeps each student's file current for every agency and puts the shift schedule in the same place.

Why EMS programs are different
An EMT or paramedic cohort may rotate through a busy emergency department, a labor and delivery unit and several ambulance services in one term. Each one sends its own list. Field shifts run nights and weekends, and in many programs students sign up for the shifts they can make, so the coordinator needs to know who is cleared before a student claims a seat.
Shifts students can claim
- Post shifts at each hospital or agency: one-off or repeating weekly, with times, unit, preceptor and seats. Overnight shifts are handled, so a 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. shift ends the next morning.
- Let students pick. Turn on "students pick shifts" for the EMS program, and students claim and drop open shifts themselves. Other programs can keep coordinator-assigned schedules.
- Hours add up. Worked shifts go into each student's hours log, and schedules and hours can be downloaded.
The file each EMS student keeps
Immunizations and TB
MMR, varicella, hepatitis B, Tdap and flu, with doses or titers, and TB screening in the form each agency accepts.
CPR and certifications
BLS and any other cards your program requires, each with its end date and reminders before it runs out.
Screening
Drug tests and background checks ordered in the portal. Results go only to your authorized staff.
Agency forms and fit tests
Ride-along waivers, confidentiality forms, and an N95 fit test record if an agency asks for one.
Usually checked within minutes
Pact Compliance Review checks every upload, usually within minutes, 24/7. It approves the document and records its expiration date, or tells the student exactly what is wrong and what to upload instead. Anything only your program can decide, such as an exemption request, comes to you. Drug test results and background check reports are never part of it: they come straight from the lab and the screening partner.
Proof for each agency
Send each ambulance service or hospital a share link to the students placed there, or a verification letter that lists the students meeting every requirement today and anyone left out.

Common questions
Can students sign up for their own ride-along shifts?
Yes. Turn on "students pick shifts" for the program, and students claim and drop open shifts. You can still assign students yourself.
Does it track clinical hours?
Worked shifts go into each student's hours log, and you can download schedules and hours. It isn't a patient-contact or skills log.
Can each agency have its own requirements?
Yes. Each clinical site, hospital or ambulance service, can add its own rules on top of the program list.
Is it for fire academies or EMS employers?
No. Pact Schools is for college and post-secondary programs. Employers are a different Pact service.
