Home care staff requirements in Alabama

Alabama's health department says home health agencies do not need a state license from the State Board of Health, though they may seek Medicare and Medicaid certification. The department's list of facility licensing rules has a hospice chapter but no chapter for home health or non-medical home care agencies. We could not find a state rule setting background check, training or health requirements for home care aides.
